Ajinkya Rahane, the skipper of the former, emerged victorious in the coin toss between KKR and SRH on Thursday at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head, who are perhaps the most dangerous opening pair in this year’s league, will bat first since Rahane requested that Ishan Kishan’s SRH bat first.
KKR entered this match fresh off a crushing six-wicket loss to the Mumbai Indians, the five-time champions. Finn Allen and Ajinkya Rahane were excellent batsmen, but Ryan Rickelton and Rohit Sharma outperformed them.
However, SRH had also lost by six wickets prior to this match.
